My 1st MTB, a Schwinn Sierra had a double up front and one of those
14-48 Freewheels... it got me up a lot of steep trails in 1984.

and and in the"learn somethin' everday" file ... I thought the Suntour
microdrive cranks were 94/58... after Brain's post above I checked the
XC Comp in my parts bin... 56! darn.. I was going to use that 20T
ring on the S-works ( Sugino) crank. Now I have to buy a 58bcd 20T
ring for my new dropbar 29er.

and David where did you find a x-34 cassette in an 8 speed? All I can
find is 32 as max cog.
