Rick, I'd love to see a picture of that. 45mm is outside width. Honjos tend to arch down further than SKS and Berthoud fenders, and the bits rolled inside the fender also have thicknesses, so unless the bike has tremendous vertical clearance, the tires are likely to rub the inside edge of the fenders. Proprietors of these fenders--VO, Jitensha, etc.-- tend to advice people to buy fenders that are at least 8-10mm wider than the tires they want to use.
