LOL, I'm with you Charlie! I'm intrigued by the simplicity of a compact double, but I find I need to get down to something like 19-20 gear inches to make it up some of the hills near my house with my bike loaded, as it usually is, with laptop, camera, lunch, etc. while commuting. I suppose I could do a 40-24, with an 11-32 cassette....

How much difference in weight would there be between a double and a triple? 200 grams? Curious....
