Time, I think, to put in a good word for Jackson & Gibbens (J&G) cycling
shorts.  I think their touring shorts are more likely to be well known
here.  http://www.bicycleclothing.com/index.html  I've been using their
"Unisex Lycra" shorts for a year now, and am quite happy with them.  At
$60 ea they're quite economical, too.  And they're made in Oregon.
