I'm not quite following your math (geometry?) on this.  When they describe
the horizontal extension as 65 mm, wouldn't that be the just 5 mm longer
than a 6 cm Technomic stem?

Extension is going to be the offset from the center bolt. The Technomic has
to raised higher in the headtube (i.e. more stem showing) to have the bars
at the same height. But, the extension is still 6 cm (60 mm).

It was my understanding that the Dirt Drop and Technomic have the same quill
(190 mm).   Since the angle from the quill is higher, you end up with ~50-75
mm of more rise available on the Dirt Drop, before you hit max height,
estimating from the images on the Riv site.

So, I think that the Dirt Drop would actually allow you to be slightly
closer, albeit at the tradeoff of higher bars.
