Well, I pre-ordered, Joel, so that's a done deal.

Kirk offers mtb tires. off road doesn't mean mtb. horses for
courses, but a 38mm tire that can't be ridden on unpaved surfaces,
mixed terrain, etc. is silly to me.

why? because somebody dubbed it an "event" tire? i've ridden the
grand bois cypres, challenge p/r's and, of course, the hetre "off-
road" with great results. these are all high performance, supple
tires - just like the pari-moto. should these too be ridden only on
pavement? i must have missed that memo.

regardless, choosing a 38mm tire for "fast" riding on pavement is kind
of silly too. there is no evidence that fatter supple tires are
faster than skinny supple tires on relatively smooth surfaces, i.e.
pavement. in fact, it's the opposite according to BQ.

further, everyone's idea of "fast" is different. when i ride "fast,"
it means accelerate quickly or get dropped. i'm relatively positive
that a 38mm tire will not accelerate as quickly as the 23mm challenge
tires I ride for going "fast."

Joel, I put my order in as soon as Kirk made the announcement. please
don't jump to conclusions, or take things out of context. i'm only
suggesting that folks shouldn't get too hung up on the term "event
tire." based on your posts, it seems like you have the impression
that this tire is somehow more precious than other supple performance
tires on the market. i disagree with that.
