I was thinking of 12-14 mph on flat ground, others could go faster, but I'm
content with slower pace. The HHT is a railroad bed, so grades are minimal
and gradual.

We could start at the east end of it (by Highlands), if distance to Sandy
Hook is too great. It saves 12M and about 1H. But I don't know about the
distance to the train station at the east end. The Red Bank line goes
south east after Matawan, greatly increasing the distance between a station
and the HHT.

Sounds like a ride might be coming together. We need input from a "local'.

I would like to see the Rivendells and possibly ride one (never did, need
53-54cm "normal' frame size).
