Just received Adventure Cycling maps for riding the Ca. Coast. I can't imagine being able to read them as I ride because they are so small, and details are written more than shown. The Rivendell guys suggested I post here to ask: 1) what MAPS do riders like> 2) I live in Oakland...what route do you like best for getting from here to the Pacific to head shout. Would be nice not to take the most strenuous route to begin. 3) I am pondering iPhone or Droid or Nexus One as an all-around stay in touch, see maps, email Warm Showers folks....comments? I am less attracted to iPhone because of ATT; and actually, I would love to avoid any contract with any provider, but it seems I cannot buy a contract-free Droid yet.
