When I was a kid, about when I'd outgrown my old Evel Knievel bike, I rec'd a Huffy 12-speed (actually won off the back of a cereal box). It was a 'road' bike, but.... I rode it everywhere. Took me to school, took me to the store, over to friends' houses, up into the woods to play, across yards and fields... even played tag while riding bikes. It didn't matter that it was a 'road' bike, and wasn't a BMX or a mountain bike (this was before mountain bikes had become ubiquitous; Im sure they were being birthed out there in California by then, but in a suburb back in the east, we were just kids). I think, that's what Grant wants. Us to just be kids, riding bikes. Yeah, we're not youngsters anymore, but, I don't think of these as road bikes versus mountain bikes, they're just bikes.
