+1... and I do absolutely agree. Well said Sky. In a fractured world, it is a real gift to just talk, listen and learn about things seemingly as simple as bicycles and riding. I feel the same regarding it helping restore my faith in people and the world, as I need that reminder, that reinforcement. I have always had that faith but it is tested now more than ever and I have started to realize just how critical it is to our lives.
Just thinking as I write this... It is an accepted truth I believe among mathematicians and other scientists that the more simple and elegant a reasoned solution, the more likely it is to be a real clue to truth. It occurs to me things as simple as biking, hiking, sharing thoughts with others, listening, contributing, learning... all of these are simple and possibly even elegant solutions to many seemingly complex things that tear at the world. Sky - I am sincerely sorry for the passing of your friend and I hope that the memory of your shared conversations, rides and adventures give you many reasons and chances to smile. We hopefully live our lives, at least in moments, in ways worthy of quiet celebration by our friends and family and in missing and remembering your friend, you do indeed celebrate and honor their life. Here's to a good day, great rides, learning, listening, remembering...
