Thanks guys! appreciate the insight. I think I'll go with the Clem. This chapter of N+1 was sparked while riding my mountain bike on the street and I thought, wow this would be a nice riding position if it weren't for the ungainly mountain bike beneath me. Seems like the Clem hits it better. I also think the Appaloosa might jostle with my Salsa Vaya.
