I don't have anywhere near the technical knowledge or experience of Bill, 
but this project just feels like a great way to spend nearly as much as a 
Clementine on far less than a Clementine. I second Bill's warning. Save for 
the Clementine, and ride whatcha got in the meanwhile. I cherish the shop 
time I have with my lassies as they learn from what little I know about how 
to work on bikes. They ride better and take better care of their bikes 
because of it. But I'd suggest letting her take the lead and supporting 
what she goes for.
