Yes, I see that the smaller Atlantises have 48 mm bb drops, compared to, what, 40 mm for your old steel hardtails? OTOH, the Long Haul Trucker has a 78 mm drop compared to the 80 of the 700C Atlantises; I've toyed with the idea of getting a disk frameset and installing wheels for 2"+ 559 tires: the Rat Trap Pass on a decently wide rim ought to give you a wheel diameter of close to 27" and 60 mm tires should be well above that: with cranks no longer than 170 and no toke lips, this should be no problem.
And Stevie's has a good supply of 700C disk hybrids, as well as a truly huge supply of used bikes and frames in all sorts of wheel sizes.
