This won't cost nearly as much as a Clementine, even if I have to get wheels custom built for it, and buy Rat Trap Pass tires!
I haven't even looked at it in person yet, and I may not buy it, but if (1) it does have more bb drop than a typical mtb, and (2) it isn't as huge a tank as I fear it might be, and (3) if Catie likes it, I will. The frameset was built into a bike by a lbs mechanic who built it for his wife, and she is an experienced and competitive cyclist, which is why I am considering it in the first place. But you are right about not forcing anything upon Catie.
