3 bikes. 5 handlebar set ups. *hunqapillar-* my touring bike, racks, bags, fenders, super heavy *-albastache bars. *
i really like this set up but feel some gnarly palm/wrist pain at about the 4hr mark. *sam*- every day rider, was supposed to be a faster bike but somehow got lost along the way-*map ahearn bars* with thumbshifters, there is only one real hand position, which can get a little claustrophobic *84 trek MTB*- pretty beater, car rack non worrier- *vintage bullmoose bars* i dont really like these. too aggressive and not adjustable enough.... but the looks!! i also have a choco moose im itching to try out now (on the hunq) and a 46cm noodle cockpit purchased off the list that is ready to go (on the sam). background- ive never tried noodles but really disliked drop bars in my fixed gear riding days. finding northroad style bars was revelatory for me and eventually led me to rivendell but that was 10 years ago and i find myself intrigued by a properly set up drop bar now that im riding longer and have enough bikes for one of them to be a quick (relatively) one. *question 1: has anyone moved to drops from upright. i know the migration is usually the opposite way. if so, what was your experience? back pain? hand pain? no pain? are you still riding with the drops, or did you revert back to upright?* *question 2: one set up needs to go. the obvious answer is the bullmoose. UNLESS going back to drops is a silly idea. what swap do you suggest?* *question 3: the even more obvious answer is to try out the noodles and chocos, but thats a lot of recabling and brake/derailleur adjusting. so how do you feel about cable splitters? preferred brands or models? tricky issues?* (ive also had albatross bars, but i get pinched nerves and hands numb for days when i ride those a lot) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
