Sad news - my daughter-in-law was mugged carrying her nearly new Sam Hillborne up the steps to her house in Philly. This happened a few weeks ago - she didn't want to tell me.
Good news - she wasn't hurt. The kids who stole the bike were in their early teens, but I expect that they quickly sold it to someone who had some inkling of what he was getting his hands on, and it was probably parted out. Nevertheless, I thought I'd put out a couple of pictures, just in case someone sees it on eBay or Craigslist (would someone who knows how to do a national Craigslist search shoot me back a how-to?). It's a unique build - Shimano Alfine 11/SON hubs, a vintage Alu-Dur chainguard, nice dynamo lighting - so it shouldn't be hard to spot.
