Actually, looking back, what I really did was kick the chain down to the granny with my toe, not heel -- pedaling backward, I'd have to nudge the bottom run of the chain and that would require me to use the tip of my shoe.
I wish I could trackstand! trackstanding and foot-shifting would be a pretty amazing sight!
