There's nothing wrong with a 105 FD , let alone any FD ! If it's rubbing, it's either because it's not mounted and adjusted correctly and/or excessive lateral chainring movement , which can be caused by loose chainring bolts, bent rings, and/or poor manufacturing tolerances in the arms themselves.
