My moustache bars were not all that comfortable for me so I thought I'd try me some Albatross bars on the AHH to get my hands higher and closer to me. I expected to be considerably slower sitting that upright. I did feel a bit awkward at first, riding a bike in that position, but to my surprise I was no slower. On this morning's commute I was puttin along at an easy 17mph which would be my normal speed pre-albatross. So yay!
So this weekend which was my first ride with them I did 25 miles. Not a long ride, but plenty long enough to know if a certain type of handlebar is going to work or not. I found them very comfortable the entire ride. Most of the time my hands were in the customary position on the grips, but once in a while I'd grab the forward bend for a bit more aero (if you can call it that) position and that wasn't bad either. Now I had always heard that Albatross bars weren't a great choice for anything over 20 miles, but i felt like I could have gone quite a bit further and been perfectly comfortable. So those of you with these kinds of bars (north road, albatross, etc) how far have you found that you've been able to travel with them before you were wishing you had something else? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
