And a salient question would be "what have I done today to make folks think
cycling is as fun and enjoyable as I find it to be?"

Historically in the US, cycling has been reasonably exclusionary.  One of
the reasons that I find Rivendell's approach to be invigorating is that they
work to break down those barriers to entry.
