I didn't intend to cast aspersions on the Weinmanns.  I had them on my
Paramount for 20 years and thought they were fine brakes that left
nothing to be desired.

But I don't remember there being so many Weinmanns on really crappy
trash bike-boom 10-speeds.  There were some really skanky ones, and I
seem to recall them mostly coming with Mafac Racers.  It's the "skanky
to sublime" that I find so noteworthy.
