Isn't "Sam Hillborne" in deference to Sheldon Brown? I thought Sheldon used to say that whenever his dad was terribly upset with him, he would state "what the Sam Hill"!
I imagine that Grant is using using the name "Sam Hillborne" in Sheldon's memory. Now, Betty Foy, I have no idea.
