Hi,

there are 2 things I do with spamassassin and clam:
1. ensure my system is updating the spamassassin rules with sa-update
(running in cron every day at 6am or something)
BTW. in Ubuntu (Debian prolly too) you can just edit
/etc/default/spamassassin file (switch CRON to 1)
2. use the clam definitions for pdf and image spam from sanesecurity.
I'm just running the UpdateSaneSecurity.sh
script from: http://www.sanesecurity.com/clamav/usage.htm

those 2 are better than using special perlscanner rules, since perl is
slow. BTW in Spamassassin you can actually
compile rules to make it run faster by using the v3.2 plugin called:
Rule2XSBody

Best regards,
Maciej
