Part of my problems seem to have been from a corrupted config file. I
deleted all the layers in each group and reloaded them. I was seeing
qgis crash.
I also reinstalled my amd graphics drivers.
Things seem to be working again for 1:3.40.11+17bookworm amd64 version.
I could not build it from the source because a find cmake file was not
finding the debian libraries.

That distribution does not have qt6 with the needed minimum version.
So I would have to upgrade to the experimental version of debian or
the latest one that just came out. Using regression I have had varied
success running some of my scripts. Any binaries built by a developer
must have been built on those versions of distributions. Perhaps some
binaries could be built which using non-shared libraries.
