This is a good point.  The vast, vast majority of open source projects  
have a core set of people who do nearly all of the work, and the  
majority of projects also have most of their work done by people being  
paid to work on those projects.

Just looking at the ohloh contribtors[1] makes it clear that it's true  
for us, and once I have a couple more programmers on staff we'll be  
contributing an even larger share of the commits.

Of course, I'll continue to be commited to an open development  
community, and I've already started pushing internal development  
conversations to the list, which has been a strange and difficult  
adjustment, for some reason.
