Interesting. The spec on the ASUS website states the following for the card
reader

8 in 1 card reader SD,MMC,MS,xD,Smart Media,mini SD w/ adapter,MS-Duo
(http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=8je5Ot4HBnKOdT81)

There is no mention of SDHC.

I did a Google and found the below. Search for SDHC and you'll find a post
by someone who was trying SDHC cards in the SD slot of the laptop and it
didn't work
http://www.xoticpcforums.com/showthread.php?t=5610&page=45

It appears the card reader can only read older SD cards (up to 2GB) and not
the newer (more current) SDHC cards.

The laptop does have USB 2.0 slot. So if you really wanted to read SDHC
cards you could but a USB card reader that does. I have a SanDisk
MobileMate SD+ that reads SDHC, miniSDHC, microSDHC/TransFlash, MMC, Plus,
Mobile, RS-MMC and DV (no, I don't know what all of the different types
listed are)
