I put the developer version on my laptop in about 20-30 min. The installer goes through a few determination steps to verify if SS2008 would run. After you pass those you can install it. You have to read the messages it presents to you so you can do the next logical step. Maybe Express is what you used and maybe it's installer if F'ed for it? The first piece it puts in is VS3 or 3.5 runtime and it requires a reboot afterward if it was not found. You then have to know how to anser the security questions and who to assign the rights to to run the various parts of the beast. Last part is that you don't need to put in EVERY option just the database. ;-> Many peole have cubes and report servers running and all they wanted was just to get SQL Server running. Oracle is/was harder in a Windows environment. Never installed DB2. -- Stephen Russell Sr. Production Systems Programmer CIMSgts 901.246-0159 cell _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
