I think there is some truth in the premise that the USA's relationship with Israel has made America more hated by peoples and governments around the world. It may have even factored into the motive behind the 9/11 attack, and I think Israels treatment of the Palestinians is one of the reason we have hamas in charge of Palestine right now; rather than Arafat's PLO. We wound up with the greater of the evils in that deal. Still the question persists in my mind; is McCain a Neoconservative or might McCain have ties to the Neoconservative?
