There is *nothing* in science that can be proven. Period.

        The "laws" of physics are mathematical formulas that do not deviate;
explaining how and/or why these formulas work is what science is all
about. There is the "Law of Gravity" that expresses how that force
varies with mass and distance; this is exact, and our certainty in
them is only limited by the precision of our measurements. Why two
masses attract each other is something that is barely understood at
all; it is probably the last big question that remains more of a
guess than anything. We have almost no direct evidence to support any
of the hypotheses; instead, we rely on lots of esoteric mathematical
calculations to support notions as wild as multi-dimensional spaces
filled with strings whose distortions create the gravitational pull
that we observe.

However, with all this guesswork and conjecture, you *never* see any
of these anti-science groups attacking the teaching of gravity in the
schools. Why? Because they aren't interested in scientific purity, or
the truth, or anything else like that. They only attack things that
we've discovered that contradict stories written thousands of years
ago and repeatedly edited and translated since then. IOW, their
objections are entirely religious in nature, even though they like to
try to deceive people into thinking that there is scientific
disagreement on this matter, when the truth is that Evolution by
Natural Selection is one of the more solid Theories around, having
been repeatedly and extensively tested, and having made several large
experimental predictions that have all been bourn out to be correct.

Ironic that people who supposedly adhere to strict religious
interpretation feel free "bear false witness" in order to achieve
their goals.
