I expected this answer and obviously it makes sense to suggest this solution
at first. We came up with that approach too, but had to give it up once we had
a closer look at the environment the service runs in.

It is not always possible to use an additional IP address or port. Christian's
RFE deals with exact these scenarios. We would use the simplier approach if it
were possible.
