Perhaps we could pass ${sender} to our custom script
and then use sendmail's -f argument to change the Return-Path header ?
The -f argument IS THE RETURN-PATH ADDRESS.
SENDMAIL(1)
SENDMAIL(1)
NAME
sendmail - Postfix to Sendmail compatibility interface
SYNOPSIS
sendmail [option ...] [recipient ...]
....
-f sender
Set the envelope sender address. This is the address
where
delivery problems are sent to.
If you ever find the time to read up on Internet email, that is also
the address that ends up in the Return-Path header.
That has nothing to do with Postfix. All mail systems with a
"sendmail" command work that way.

This solved the issue.
As you can see it was under your nose all the time but you were too busy
insulting us:
"I assumed that you would be familiar with the way UNIX command-line
syntax works, but I must have been too optimistic."
"The biggest problem here is between the chair and the keyboard."
Out of curiosity .. do you have some problem with our service or is this
just some sort of benevolent dictator / linus torvalds "i don't care
about you" attitude ?
