you may that, you may this....

you may have a sane setup with one IP having one A-record and one PTR
i did nowhere say i would enforce this, i said "in doubt it has to match"
or at least there must be a A-record for your PTR

but that's off-topic

on-topic is that anybody setting up a MTA without a PTR is clearly
missing the qualification to maintaina mail-system and most likely
doe snot care about other best practices which makes him dangerous
