I'm going to clarify this a bit.  This approach does work for the
specific config changes we're discussing in the postfix docs, but it is
not always the case.  I know from experience that if you take a full
dovecot 1.x config file, run doveconf -n on it from dovecot 2 and plug
the results directly into dovecot 2.x odds are you will have to make a
few additional tweaks to get it to work properly.

I have brought up the documentation issue wrt the dovecot 1.x config on
this list in the past and it was discussed and nothing changed in the
actual docs.  I do think that either the example dovecot config needs to
be replicated in the docs for dovecot 2.x or it should simply be removed
and a reference made to the dovecot docs.  Just having the 1.x config is
very confusing, imo, especially since the vast majority of people will
be on 2.x now.
