It sees no SASL mechanisms it understands, so rather than DTRT and fail with an error message, it attempts to continue without authenticating. > Has anyone else ever come across a similar issue? Dozens of times, if not hundreds, on this very list. Outlook is trash. Your search keywords are "postfix-users outlook auth mechanism". I believe I last answered this question in August (if it has come up since then, I might not have bothered to reply.) This is assuming, of course, that your user is trying to AUTH at a Postfix. If the Barracuda is the submission server, you should be asking Barracuda for support. Or better, as I suggested in August, refuse to support broken mail clients! Thanks /dev/rob0 I am searching through the archives now. What is odd is that this is not reproducible nor is it affecting any other user with Outlook 2003. Any way for now Thunderbird will suffice for this user. Though I doubt I will be able to force a conversion away from Outlook if this issue gets worse. Most likely we would lose PostFix first, which I do not think would be in our best interests at all. Regards, William
