Hi everyone,
I'd like to know if there's a way to have different relayhost based on
the MX records of the recipient for outgoing mail. I'd like to relay
outgoing emails to multiple different domains (all going through a
common mail exchange) to a particular relayhost.
Can you explain the problem, without talking about the
solution which involves overiding certain MX records?
OK. We have multiple mail hosts (all using postfix) on different
(seperate) networks. One of those host (IP address) is on a blacklist
with Godaddy's mail servers. So we started using one of our other mail
host as a relayhost and it solved the problem, but is putting a lot
more load on this server.
So I am looking for a way to divert emails destined for Godaddy's
mailserver from another of our mail host *WITHOUT* sending *ALL*
outgoing traffic to the relayhost.
Keep in mind that Godaddy's mail servers are used my *many* thousands
of different domains, so I cannot use a transport map for this.
Thanks.
Note: using iptables to reroute traffic for Godaddy's IP address does
work, but it's unlikely to work reliably if they change those IP
addresses (or add new ones to the mix).
