Can someone set up a CNAME or alias for https://www.postfix.org so that
https://postfix.org works?
That may be possible by adding a DNS postfix.org A record (with the
same IP address as www.postfix.org), plus webserver configuration
(also accept requests for postfix.org), plus letsencrypt configuration
(name postfix.org and subject alternative name www.postfix.org).
Is it worth it?
It's easy to do, but I recommend instead of having postfix.org serve the
same content as www.postfix.org have the web server return a redirect
(302 status) with a Location header pointing to
https://www.postfix.org/. I just find it a nice clean way of telling
people, "We're really on www.postfix.org and we'll send you there now."
This is also quite easy using an Apache Redirect directive (or
equivalent for nginx, etc).
