Well, a standard product from Apple is hardly a 'special setup', but that
aside, I am not wedded to the use of MacOSX Server. Far from it. I have been
intending to ditch it as soon as it makes sense for me to do so, which for
reasons that are no ones business but my own, has not been the case so far,
although that is about to change.

In the meantime however I did want to enable the use of user@myhostname which I
thought would be a simple task. It was not.

However I now understand what the cause of the problem is and am happy to use
the work-around.

So, I thank everyone for their help, but please, I have repeatedly stated my
intention to change the server away from MacOS of any sort and that I have
always known where the 2 installations of postfix are on the current Mac server
and have been addressing the correct versions of all parts of postfix at all
times during this protracted thread. 'Nuff said. End of. And in Wietse's own
words "over and out".

Again, I thank you all for the help, but this topic is I think done.
