A totally different different question, for a PoC what would potentially
be the right way to hack such support into postfix?

Would the right approach to use milter and does that potentially allow
to add additional smtp command such as PUBKEY to provide a public key
for the connection by the connecting party?

If anything, I am curious to build a PoC and discuss the idea with a few
other parties.
