Oh. I thought I would see them like I see these 10025 entries:

including the port number. I added your suggestion and I see the traffic
now for spampd but 10026 is not mentioned in those log entries.
Just saying.... looks like my expectations were off...

You haven't overridden the syslog_name in smtpd options on port 10026.
The logs in your original mail:
Jun 27 00:00:01 cjbnew*mydomain postfix/smtpd[20770]: connect from
localhost[::1]
are mostly related to port 10026.
Add " -o syslog_name=postfix/spampd-in" to master.cf options to see them
