This is common with sdl games. The same workaround as for people using
the evdev driver on linux applies:

export SDL_VIDEO_X11_DGAMOUSE=0


I need this for neverball, and it helped for openarena.

Of course, now all my main machines run amd64 I can't play with it. Beer
for whoever fixes that.
