I'm using Kubuntu. AFAIK, since the Kubuntu project became an official
project, it is updated just like the main Ubuntu project.

Well, you could always create a root account if you want to. Just like
in my setup at home. Actually, there's is a root account. The password
is just not set, so you can't log-in as root. You just have to rung
"sudo passwd root" once and you can now login as root.

I must admit though, I'd rather use sudo most of the time than login
as root. I wish I did not create a password for the root account. And
if you need to do a lot of stuff as root, you can always use "sudo -H
-s".

Kubuntu is not brown. I can't remember, but the default theme is blue.
