Hi Tiger, OpenSolaris runs VERY well in VMware server. You need to download ALL THREE PARTS of the DVD and then put them together (instructions on how to do that are on the Sun site around the download area). Once you do that, install it.
It found ALL of my hardware properly the first time, and Firefox & Thunderbird were there right from the start. Great system, which I think is why I am seeing more of it in the corp. data centers I go in to.
