I use an 'entry level' air compressor. Am not sure of the PSI but i've used it to clean all kinds of servers - from dells to clones. Believe me, you will not believe the amount of crud lurking inside power supplies, CPU fans, and motherboards until you blow compressed air on it. It is possible to revive old pcs just by doing this procedure. You need a face mask, as the soot that will come out of such a procedure will definitely give you a cold afterwards. As to damaging something, i'd say jar all the components during the maintenance period and find out if the server is in fact solid, then find out otherwise later on when it is online. A well constructed board/system will not break with the compressed air being given out by these entry level compressors (I will give the PSI max rating of mine in a subsequent post). _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
