Dude. No need to blow a gasket.
There are always pro's and con's on using F/OSS and proprietary SW. The author of that article must be inclined on the latter. If you want to "return a favor", then heed Daniel's advice. I am a MCP and MCSE myself but I am here because a few of my clients wish to migrate to F/OSS. On the mandatory implementation of F/OSS within the Gov't, I am on the side of pro-choice. Same with my clients, I always promote and recommend M$....but also inform them of the alternative, F/OSS. Then I leave up to them to decide which technology platform to use. If my clients want M$, then good for me. But if they say F/OSS,...well then now you know why I am here subscribed to the PLUG list :D For me, the same holds true with dealing with Government whether F/OSS or M$. If you just read the postcript of Federico D. Pascual Jr. at http://www.philstar.com/philstar/NEWS200612032602.htm it is unfair to us advocates of the F/OSS that we don't have any press releases defending our advocacies. Maybe it's about time to have our own press releases. Anyone here connected to any press companies and/or having its own blog? Can you guys help us out defend and enlighten the people that adopting F/OSS is not an overall disadvantage to our government but a benefit to all of us? Thank you. _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List plug@lists.linux.org.ph (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
