OK,
I know I haven't been to a meeting since joining this list. I have a valid
excuses I think:) being that I currently live in Surrey. However all being
well and with a trailing wind etc I am hopeful that I will be resident in my
new house in-time for the next meeting (assuming it is the December one even
if it's not I will be there)

As for ideas....

I would also be interested in a Forensics talk...

As for Distro's other than Ubuntu I used to use Fedora but fell out with it
@ the 12 update stage (it wiped my hard disk and LVM'd the whole drive so I
was unable to keep my home drive. I should of done a backup but hey it's
worked in the past :) Long story short I now use Mint on both my Laptop and
Netbook. I would also be interested in other Distro's
How about a Lug Project or some sort? I have a desktop PC that needs a good
once over after being in storage for about a year but it would be
interesting to see what could be done with it. I had planned on turning it
into a Mame station.

Steve

I think we can debate the best content for meetings until the cows come
home. Realistically anyone with a Linux problem should be able to get help
both via the mailing list of at a meeting, and anyone who wants a topic
covered or wants to cover a topic should be able to do so.
Meetings have not been so full as not to have space to accommodate any of
these!

First things first: we need a venue, so any volunteers?

If we're sticking with Last Tuesday format, and assuming we skip Christmas
week (29th Dec) (both assumptions are open to challenge), then we're looking
at January 26th for the next meeting. Plenty of time to organise something?

In the meantime, lets build some enthusiasm by discussing some subjects we'd
like covered and finding people who can cover them.

- I'd like to see some different distros installed and demonstrated so I can
see whether sticking with Ubuntu for my desktop is the best option.
- I'd like to see the forensics talk I mentioned earlier
