A friend of mine is a long time Nikon user and have F90X & FA, but has been
unable to manual focus with the D70 because of the viewfinder. And worse of
all, his D70 has back-focus problem so he has no choice but to accept
slightly out-of-focus pictures from time to time. Another friend's D70 has
misaligned viewfinder which makes the grid screen useless.

I used the nikkor 55/2.8 macro for a little while for some macro and found
the viewfinder rather hard to use. Call it psychosomatic, but I didn't like
that finder one bit. On a related note, I peered down one of Rob's LXen a
couple of days ago. Wooooooooooo. (-:
