They release the *ist D to signalize that they are determined to still be a contender in slr's that take 35mm system lenses. They are just saying "hey, we will continue to make slr's; digital or not". If the users who sits on old K-mount lenses fails to buy it it makes no real difference. They are far to few and Pentax must anyway try to reach new customers and they won't do that by making compatibilities that are expensive and a non-issue for such users. It may be sad but there really isn't much point from a commercial point of view to make compatibility with more than 20 year old lenses. I wish they did, but I have no problems understanding why they don't. Pål
