I too think it's the lab. It has happened twice now with this particular lab. Two out 
of perhaps thirty rolls the last year. Is that acceptable? I don't think so, but I 
don't know what to expect. In all other ways the lab are really good.

Last time around I sent the negs and copies back to the lab and they printed new 
copies more or less scratchfree and I will do so again.
