I agree. While I perceive Sharp as a great line of electronics as a whole, I did have one of the best tape decks ever made with features that put tape quality like no other I've seen. However, that was 18 years ago and I know longer have that deck. You just have to research the products of interest and make an educated guess, but probably not wise to condemn their entire line of products. although I did have the same feelings about Panasonic after terrible experiences with their cordless phones and another smaller appliance.../

A five inch reel to reel tape recorder and it lasted fifteen years. I think you have to consider that Sharp wouldn't still be around if they were worse than the competition. Like e very other manufacturer, they have cheap and w expensive product lines, good and bad years along with products which do and don't hold up well. I'd look at review sites for up to date opinions and go with them while praying. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Gary G Schindler Sent: Monday, September 24, 2007 8:25 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: sharp stereos I for one have not had good luck with sharp products. I had a sharp 1165 cassette deck which was in the shop more than it was on my shelf. my wife and I have a sharp microwave which spews steam out of the bottom when it is operating. if you feel you want to take a chance with sharp, go for it, but frankly I wouldn't. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Walter Ramage" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> Sent: Monday, September 24, 2007 6:44 AM Subject: RE: sharp stereos > Hi.
