I have a feeling that this discussion may, unintentionally, be discussing
2 different types of software.
My comments refer to those programs that deliver upwards of 1,000 tv
channels to your pc for a 1 time fee.
The problem is that while they might include 1,000+ links, most are for
programming not of interest to the average individual.
Do you want to watch channels from Thailand, Taiwan, and other channels
not in English.
Are not most folks' expectations (or hopes) to be able to watch HBO, ESPN,
Home and Garden, USA, etc etc.
The other kind of program -- and my comments weren't directed at those --
is to assist you to use and perhaps record paid for satellite or cable
delivered programming.
That's a whole different animal; and those programs likely will make your
tv viewing life
more productive if they have the features you want and need.

Hope that this clarifies.
